Michael Shilale Architects, LLP (MSA) was asked to
analyze the existing facility and evaluate the
feasibility of expanding, modernizing and upgrading
this community firehouse. Firefighting
in the 21st century has many new challenges that a
new facility will need to address. Beginning with an analysis of
the existing space allocations, MSA met with
individuals from the Valley Cottage Fire Department
(VCFD) to discuss the needs and goals of the project which included a Multi-purpose room
suitable to be utilized as a training classroom, Decon area, exterior training area and many other
improvements.
From a comprehensive list of needs and goals MSA created conceptual
site and floor plans, a building code and
zoning analysis as well as a preliminary cost
estimate for consideration
MSA is pleased to be working with the dedicated
volunteers at VCFD and look forward to the
possibility of modernizing and expanding this
important community resource. |
