April 6, 2010 - John Cirilli, AIA, LEED was recently elected to the AIAWMH board of directors.  John has been active in the Chapter for many years and is honored to accept this position of distinction.

There are nine Directors of AIA-WMH that dedicate their time and expertise to benefit the interests of architects and the profession of architecture.  The Westchester/Mid-Hudson chapter of AIA encompasses seven counties including Rockland and Westchester and has a membership of over 550 architects. AIA’s public outreach and advocacy efforts champion the vital role architects play in creating livable communities. In addition to being the voice of the profession in Congress, the state legislatures and local governments, AIA provides its members with many other benefits. A knowledge base of Best Practices is provided to members that cover every aspect of the profession of architecture. AIA adopted continuing education requirements before it became a New York State mandate, and continues to assist its members in fulfilling their CEU credits. AIA’s family of Contract Documents have provided a foundation and framework for the complex construction industry for over 100 years.

John has coordinated interesting programs such as a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright homes in nearby Pleasantville and a tour of USG’s drywall manufacturing facility in Rockland County. : John is also coordinating a Sustainable Symposium where dozens of manufacturers will be presenting their solutions and experts will be sharing their sustainable strategies throughout the day.
