New City NY - Michael Shilale
Architects, LLP is proud to announce that “Creating
Spaces for Children” has been accepted again at
NYSAEYC’s annual convention. This program, well
received at last year’s convention in Saratoga,
shares some Best Practices on creating more
effective classrooms and centers.
Meeting in Westchester this year, NYSAEYC’s
statewide conference brings together teachers and
directors, architects and consultants passionate
about the education of young children. They gather
annually to learn and share what’s new and exciting
in the field.
Michael Shilale, AIA, LEED along with early
childhood consultant David Del Campo MSEd have been
presenting this program for several years at state
and local conferences throughout New York and New
Jersey.
Michael and David attended the Institute for Child
Care Design at Harvard University. Since their time
in Boston studying childcare facilities from
throughout the world, Michael and David have been
working together creating better spaces for young
children.
Many children from three months
to five years old spend “10 hours a day, 5 days a
week, 50 weeks a year essentially within four walls
and one room” ; that’s 12,500 hours. That is the
same amount of time older children spend in three
different schools and over 50 different classrooms
from kindergarten to the twelfth grade.
The conference is being held this year at the Hilton
Rye Town from May 4-6. Visit
www.nysaeyc.org for
more information or to register for the conference.
Learn simply solutions to
